End of an era

I have to admit that what I am writing right now is greatly influenced by a song from the soundtrack of BBC's series Sherlock:

It is a theme of a story where Sherlock, gets introduced to Irene Adler,or as he called her "the woman". As the story goes, she was the only woman that ever tricked Sherlock, and the only one he ever really loved. However, as a series of events happen, he says farewell to Irene, lets her go, and never looks back.

Now, in my opinion this is more then just a cliche love story, and as the song's chords go, I can sense a determination, a strong, conscious determination, a result of a common sense, a mind taught to rationalize and deduce conclusions, where one sees that something ended, and that looking back would just make the things worse. For you, for others, for everyone.

The worse thing that you could do after seeing that something blew up in your face is doing the same thing again.People could wonder why would anyone want to do something like that, and I am asking the same question as well....why? But the cruel reality shows us a different picture, we are not always bound to follow common sense, and sometimes we go back to a place where not only there is nothing there for us anymore, but also we put ourselves into a risk we really don't need or cannot afford to have.

End of an era is called like that for a reason.Things are as they are and things change, one part of your life ends another one begins, worlds collide and worlds get destroyed, but one thing is for sure, the end happened,so don't look back.Do not.Look.Back.

It is harder then it sounds.Much harder, next to impossible. An era ends, it is a period in which you were accustomed to live in, it is a massive change, and you feel so insecure about what would happen now, but in those moments remember one thing, if it was meant to last it would've not ended. Sure, there will be people responsible for the change, surely you can blame everyone, you can blame yourself, but the fact remains, it ended, so don't look back for god's sake.Do not go to a place where there's nothing else left for you.

Instead, say farewell to your Irenes whatever that might be. Understand that it is over.
Just say it ....
....farewell, Irene.
